The Future Holds Surprises (Diptych)

This painting had a mind of it’s own. I always work on more than one at a time. In this case I had three on one wall and a large piece of canvas stapled to the side wall. My focus was mainly on the large canvas. I’d never worked on such a big one. It kind of felt like walking off a cliff. The pieces on the other wall I played with from time to time as a break from the larger one. At a point I would have said this was a mess but then all of a sudden it came together. Surprise! Fascinating. This happens so often. That painting, off to the side that I’m not focusing on suddenly becomes the star of the show. Generally my logical brain tends to take over even when I am trying to use my intuition. But if I am consciously focusing on another painting it gives my intuition an opportunity to shine. Oh, and this didn’t start out as a diptych. At a point I realized it had become one!

Some enlarged sections of this painting.

Enjoy.
